Kroger Electric adds new Caterpillar ®   321C LCR Hydraulic Excavator to Undeground Utility Division

The addition of the new Caterpillar 321C LCR allows Kroger Electric to bulster their underground utility division to tackle large jobs that require the need for excavation.

Caterpillar ®   321C LCR Hydraulic Excavator offers a compact radius and improved performance and versatility The new C-Series excavator features a compact swing radius for high productivity in tight areas such as near buildings, on highways where lane closures must be limited, and on logging roads. The 321C LCR offers improved performance through increased horsepower and hydraulic flow, a larger cab for improved comfort and visibility, and factory installed auxiliary hydraulics for expanded versatility. Longer service intervals and easier maintenance boost availability and lower operating costs.

The new excavator has been designed to rotate with little to none of the counterweight extending beyond its tracks. Tail swing radius is only 5 ft 6 in. (1.67m). To further minimize the working envelope, the boom is positioned farther back in the upper frame as compared to a standard excavator. The design reduces the front swing radius when the boom is pulled up for easier operation in limited spaces.
